Ben chose to practice law because of his strong commitment to public service and desire to help others. Ben is a member of the Forsyth County Bar Association and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. Ben practices in the areas of employment law, unemployment benefits, workers compensation, and business litigation. Ben also helps clients with a variety of other legal matters including criminal defense work.
Ben is originally from Winston Salem, NC and is a proud “double deacon” attending Wake Forest University and Wake Forest University School of Law. In law school, Ben gained practical experience from the Elder Law Clinic and the Community Law and Business Clinic. Ben was also selected into the pro bono honor society based on the number of pro bono hours he completed while in law school. Prior to joining EMP, Ben interned at EMP as a file clerk and as a summer intern. Ben also interned under the Honorable Judge Edwin Wilson Jr. in Rockingham County North Carolina. Ben currently also serves as a First Lieutenant in the 134th Legal Operations Detachment of the United States Army Reserve Judge Advocate General Corps
Ben and his wife Holley, a senior audit associate at an accounting firm, live in Winston Salem with their dog, Murphy. In his free time, Ben enjoys spending time with his family, biking, and volunteering with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of North Carolina.
